Club Data Protection Undertaking
1. Introduction.
All organisations that hold computer records are subject
to the provisions of the Data Protection Act although Bridge Clubs are exempt
from its regulatory provisions.
2. What Information Does Bawburgh Bridge Club Hold Regarding Club Members.
Personal Data.
- member name, address,phone number and email address.
- club membership status - date of joining date of last sub payment.
- EBU membership status - date of joining, member number, player ranking.
Competition Results..
- The results of individual club bridge competitions by player name
- Aggregated competitions results over a two year period.
Purposes for Which Bawburgh Bridge Club Holds Membership Information..
- Management of membership records and the club’s income from members.
- Preparing the club membership card which is distributed to club members.
- Preparing and distributing to members communications from the committee.
- Preparing the club's computer web-site. Access to member data on club's website
requires a password unique to each member
- Preparing EBU Master Point and Pay-to-Play statements and submitting them to the EBU.
3. Undertaking by Bawburgh Bridge Club with Regard to Membership Information.
The club undertakes to ensure as far as it is able that computer records of
personal data are accurate and mutually consistent.
The club undertakes to use member computer records for no other purposes other
than those described in this document.
The club undertakes not to communicate this information to third parties for any
purpose without the members' consent.
The club undertakes to observe individual member's wishes on mode of
communication. Specifically members may indicate that they do not wish to
receive email communications. (The normal alternatives to email for most club
member communications will be the club notice board and verbal announcements at
meetings.)
4. Undertaking By Members.
The member undertakes when joining the club to abide by the club rules. These
include an acceptance by the member of the club's policies relating to computer
usage as described in this document.
