First of all, the Committee would like to wish all Members a very Happy and Healthy New Year and some very good bridge too.
You will have noticed that table numbers have increased significantly over the last few weeks, averaging 12 tables a session.
If this carries on we may have to rethink taking over the committee rooms for our normal events!! For those who may have had
withdrawal symptoms in the week before Christmas and New Year the Club remained open.
So what has 2012 got in store for Bawburgh Bridge Club? There will be our normal All Day Bridge Events, the first of
which will be the Hog Roast on 16th February and Jan is taking bookings for this. The cost is still being held at £16 per head.
The menu will be Hog Roast, New Potatoes, Salads and French bread with the main dessert being Sticky Toffee Pudding.
The next All Day Event will be held on 7th June which coincides with the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Celebrations – watch this space.
Good excuse for going overboard and planning something special.
30th August and 1st November are the two remaining dates for these events.
The next Teams Event is on 19th January – remember there is always a couple on standby to make up a table of four.
Our 7th Anniversary Parties will be held on 28th and 29th March. Come along and enjoy some lovely home baking and a glass or two of ‘bubbly’,
Bucks Fizz or if you would like to concentrate on your game there will be plenty non alcoholic beverages on offer too.
The AGM will be held before normal bridge play on Thursday 26th April.
The club appears to be ‘quite well off’ for Directors at the moment, but we could do with some help with people learning to be a Bridgemate operator.
I am told once you get the hang of it, it is quite straightforward. Bawburgh Village Hall Management Committee is looking into the provision of Wi-Fi
so if and when this is available there will be no need to do anything at home, it can all be done from the Club. If you are interested,
please have a word with one of the Committee.
