Bawburgh Bridge Club scores all its events using the Scorebridge scoring system which works in conjunction with the Bridgemate System. Scorebridge is also used to to transfer Master Points automatically to the EBU. This web page describes how the system works and is visible to members.
Non-EBU Members.
Paper certificates are printed in the traditional way for all non-EBU
members in case they apply for EBU membership
at some later date. (Unregistered MP
certificates are valid for three years. ) They can be
collected from the club premises at club meetings.
EBU Members.
Scorebridge holds a a current copy of the EBU membership file which it uses to
validate every player's EBU membership. If the player is
present on the EBU file, the name of the player on the club database is
changed to the format stored on the EBU database and the EBU number is
added to the players record. Once
this validation has occurred there is little possibility that
a player's MP's will go astray. This
process is identical for visitors and members.
If EBU members prefer to see some other form of their name in the club's results, the solution is to contact the EBU and ask them to change their registered name to the style they prefer.
MP's earned at the club are held within the Scorebridge database until the
usually monthly periodic transfer takes place. A web
page is published on the Club Site - " MP Data.". This shows
i.
The points held by the club pending transfer
ii. The date of the last transfer to the EBU
iii. The points transferred to the EBU on that date.
The member can check that the points were transferred to his record by using the
EBU on-line Master Point system which can be accessed using the club's Links
Page.
When the EBU has processed the transfer it sends the club an invoice for the points and an audit report confirming the success or otherwise of each transfer. If a transfer has been unsuccessful the Master Points are shown in the 'Transfer Failed' column on the MPData web page until either the transfer has been correctly made by the club webmaster, or until a paper certificates has been printed.
With the above procedure the EBU member has full visibility of the Master Points earned at Bawburgh Bridge Club. The master points are all either confirmed as transferred or are shown to be held by the club pending transfer.
